Fish_Tank_Updated_3.jpg  This wasnt the best picture I took of my tank but its a start...I need to resize the others before posting them.

Anyway Im in for some creative feedback...I ahve more plants on order to fill some spaces. I was wondering if anyone had ideas about how to block some more light from the back...Light wont fit ontop as the tank was custom made for my wallunit and the light fits at the back. The tank was sposed to be 5cms lower so light could be on top but we decided to work around it.

Oh my! Ive just worked out how to attach pic properly...Im so sad! lol

i like your tank.. what kinda of lightin have you got?

That's going to be a result of focusing on the light fixtures and bleaching out the rest of the picture. Take a picture from a downward angle with all the lights off in the room other than the fish tank. That should come out better.

Fishtank_Updated_pic_March_20_07.jpgHi all thanks for your replies! The light is a plant & Fishtank light...One thats good for aquatic plants anyway...? Something of the sort. The fish tank was designed for a black wall unit, we allowed 5cms clearance so the light can sit ontop But the man who made it built from the his own measurements basically. It took long enough to finally get our tank so we decided to keep it and place light at the back....so its coming through unfortunatly and thats why Im so glarey. Today I bought some green shade cloth and plan to double the thickness of it and cover the back of tank to filter the light a little...then on Friday My plants I ordered will be ready for pick up...java ferns, moss and a couple more. So Im hoping with doing that when I spend endless hours looking at my tank...my poor eyes wont get sore...also I should be able to take better pics. Like I said Im hoping. I did have a poster of plants and rocks to put on back but Im sure the light would melt it over time. So decided to go green shade cloth, also it might give the water a nice soft green colour. Fish would have to love it more...no more BRIGHT LIGHT! BRIGHT LIGHT!!!!! lol.

Anyway I resized a better pic....you can really see what I mean about the light in this pic......need my sunnies! B)

floating plants such a riccia would block it out a bit

Yep It all made perfect sense after reading a few times...lol Just joking! I bought some shade cloth and mlfs keeper said he uses shade cloth and it works good. I also purchased floating plants so when they start growing rampid then It will be much better...I purchased a fair amount But tank is long and wide...So will take too much to cover...Teenage fry love it so Im sure the young fry will also. Will post a new pic in next couple of days when shade cloth is place on it. Its looking more awesome every day...and my little guppies and cat cory seem happy too. Water ph is at 7.2 and has been stable for 1.5 weeks. YAY!!!! Waiting for my water chemistry kit I ordered to come in..it has everything from nitrite, nitrate, amonia and a couple more...yay! I hate waiting...Alot of people said I wouldnt need it But because I plan on breeding guppies for mlfs I though having the kit wouldnt hurt to keep on hand. ITS so exciting.....!!!!!!!!!!! ^ months Ive been at it...and Im more addicted everyday..I seem to be able to diagnose disease alot easier...for example...I purchased a fish yesterday...in tank she looked heavily pregnant...when i got her home, later i noticed she had dropsy...to the stage where when you looked closely her scales were lifting..I took her out immediatly and culled her...she wasnt eating and she was staying still....I rekon the bagging and trip home made her worse...! Oh well...I took the jar to mlfs and he replaced her...for two. I actually got a much nicer one too...yay! :D
