At a rough measurement i'd say the fire eel was around 27 inches from nose to tail and the best part of 3 inches thick, its not fussy about what it eats, i feed a mixture of prawns whitebait and mussel and whatever hits the water and is missed by the silver arowana or p bass the fire eel is there next to hoover it up.

As for more pictures you will all have to wait, i have spent all my money recently on renovating the new fish house so because i didnt put anything towards the camera i'm not meant to be using it

The dorado came courtesy of The Wolf who told me they had it in stock at the shop he worked at when customer returned it for being too aggressive, a 90 mile round trip journey to deepest darkest Kent and back and £25 later it was happilly swimming around in one of my tanks terrorising the natives. I have been looking for more but apart from two on aquarists classifieds which were being sold for silly money i havent seen any others since.

The fish house is coming along nicely, the new roof is on and water tight, all the crap that was left in there has been taken out and skipped and the floor screeded to level it out, im just waiting for the floor to dry out properly before insulating the room and upgrading the electrics to take a 100 amp consumer board and fitting a dozen more plug sockets. Theres not much to see at the moment apart from 4 bare walls a roof and a floor, 243 square feet of emptiness.
I'll start taking some pictures once the insulation starts going in and it begins to look a little more interesting.
