Request Help on my floating Goldfish !
Tank size: since it start floating, i moved it from a 210 l/55 gal tank to a 20l tank with low water level.
pH: 7
ammonia: Not sure, 50% water from old tank, 50% fresh with chlorine balanced using drops (guy at fish shop told me i didnt need to worry about the ammonia or the others below ie nitrite/nitrate hk or gh (prior to the fish getting sick, hence the na's))
nitrite: na
nitrate:na
kH:na
gH:na
tank temp: 18 degrees celsius
Fish Symptoms : Comet goldfish, about 2 years old, has been perfectly healthy for 1.5 years, i moved it recently interstate in the 20l tank, and recently introduced it into the big tank. Since the move it has been swimming very slow, and as of the last two days it has been 'lodging' itself into plants and just sitting there, doing nothing at all, but will swim out after a while no probs. Today it started floating on its side. I then moved it to the small tank. It will stay on its side for a fair while (10 mins or so), then suddenly swim off real fast around the tank and then just float to the top again. It has sometimes just swum straight at the bottom of the tank and spun in 5 circles or so, nose down tail up, after which it will float to the top again! It looks physically fine, ie no lesions or discoloration. Oh and it floats with its head hanging and its tail hanging.
Volume and Frequency of water changes: Weekly
Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Decholorinator, mineral balancer
Tank inhabitants: 1 black moore, 1 spotted goldie, 5 zebra danios, 2 barbs, 3 australian natives (look like coldwater discus fish?) 4 snails, 3 big danios (unknown). All of these fish seem perfectly healthy. All swimming around fast and excited as per ususal.
Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): 4 long stringy natural plants, all the other fish bar the zebra danios
Exposure to chemicals: na
Digital photo (include if possible): attached
Its poo is white and quite stringy too, and i have been feeding once a day... flakes, which is a recent change from pellets.
Thank you very very much in advance!
