Your Bettas Names

Tell us your bettas names and why you named them that, I thought this would be a fun threa


Mine: (I'm not doing all of them right now, that would take forever, lol)

Lemon Drop - Easy, he's a bright yellow color, lol

Minnie- She has two red spots on her anal fin that reminded me of mouse ears, so minnie mouse

Tiara (Tia) - She's very feminine and thought she needed a feminine name to suit her

Itsy Bitsy - I'm sure you can guess this one, shes tiny, only 1 1/2 inches and shes done growing

Rusty - Hes a coppery rusty color

Royal - He's a crowntail/plakat so I thought, crown = King = royalty = Royal

Chippy - She has black marble spots like a chocolate chip

Chaos - Honestly I just loved the name

Tyson - He has these huge fluffy ventrals that make him look so tough, so I thought Mike Tyson = Boxer = tough, so Tyson he became.

Parker - Not really sure where I came up with that, lol

Hunter - It just fit him, lol

Kenni- Well, there's this show- South Park, and one of the little kids in the show is named Kenny, Kenny had always been my favorite character, so when I got my first betta that just popped into my mind, and I wanted to be a little unique so I changed the y at the end to an i.

Kyle- I just always liked that name.

Well we have Dagon and Ifrit and 4 no-names right now. Dagon is a philistine god that was half man and half fish. Dagon was also a creature featured in a couple H.P. Lovecraft horror stories and was made into a movie. My Dagon has so much personality that sometimes he seems half-fish and half-man! Ifrit, my husband named. Ifrits are a type of fire genie. My husband named him Ifrit because of his bright red color. I'm having a difficult time coming up with names for my new babies, but I've been researching. Almost all of my fish have names (except my panda cories and endlers, because I can't tell them apart!).

my current 4 boys:

Chi - he's multi coloured with purple body & white/blue fins, and a big purple spot on his anal fin, a bit yingyangish i thought
Gin - gin! and apparently "gin" is japanese for silver, and he's platinum copper, silver basically!
Yoshi/Shredder - he has two names, yoshi is his real name, japanese for free, i got him free, his naughty name is Shredder because he tail bites!
De Niro - my new boy, shreaded by Paradise Fish but soldiers on, he's TOUGH and always flares at me, and he has a scar on his face...scarface...hehe

My female betta is Afia. It means Given birth on a Friday. And since I gave her a new life outside of her teeny cup on a Friday.. I thought it fit her very well... plus it's just a pretty name

My boy is named Raj which means Prince. Gave him that name b/c I plan on spoiling him (and her) rotten

Mine is called 'larl fella' - its a cumbrian thing!

Tyco- I got the name from disney channel, i dont know why i was watching it
Cyprus- just popped into my head
King- Hes a ct, and hes like a king
Bubbles- hes yellow like a bubble
Domino- Hmm, not to sure how i got his name
Ginger- shes red and sweet like ginger
Orion- Prounounced Or-e-on

and then there 3 more that jaded has right now

My yellow male VT got named Spike, I dont know why but it just suited his grumpy little face!

My 2nd male got named Milligan, because of someone famous called Spike Milligan (dont know who lol!) But I think it really suits him, name seems kind of like a 'tough' name and he is a big little boy if that makes sense lol, when he flares he looks like he could be mean!

My female took a few days to name but I came up with Skittles for her today. Firstly because I had a bag of skittles today, red and purple are my favourites and she is red and purple, so Skittles she became

Murdoch - means "sea warrior." I figured it was befitting for a fish known for fighting. Plus, I have a thing for Gaelic names.

Koi..hubby thought he looked like a goldfish.
Rainbow boy..I took him to school and one of the little girls named him but then he came home as he wasnt happy.
Rio...reminded me of the hats they wear in a carnival
Mr Bojangles...I had been listeneing to the song
Rolf... it just suited him.
Spurs....a friend named him.
Echo...bought from Yarmouth, and we go back there a lot.
Brodie...just suits him.

Val bought on 14th Feb.
PK that I just call PK. (OMG 15)

Mine are named after Lord Of The Rings characters:
Boromir - my feisty red one.
Legolas - my even feistier yellow one.
Gandalf - my dark blue poser.
Aragorn - my shy little purple/blue one.
Still working on getting another 5 to make up the fellowship!

I always said I'd be happy with four but everytime I see another one, I want it!!

I've named mine Koroshiya, It's japanese for professional killer, I've always liked the name and my husband even considered it for a name if our daughter had of been a boy LOL!
