I think it might be from the bogwood. Mine looks a little gloomy because of the tannins as well.


question... what is the dark mass floating in the front right??? is that your wood?
 
The dark item floating top right is my bogwood - still floating after 6 weeks!!! it is sinking but just very slowly.

Very nice. Ive never had problems getting my wood to stay down, wondered what was floating, kinda looks spooky lol. My wood doesnt discolour the water much either but does tone it down a bit and makes it look more subtle lighting effect.

Nice tanks.

Ive actually got kinda used to it floating now and the fish seem to like it especially my clown loaches and bristlenoses, recently my fighter has started sleeping in a small puddle on the top of the wood with 3 of my amano shrimp - ill try and get a picture tonight coz its cute :rolleyes:

Hi breezer

Yeah shrimps are still there, since i released them i have only ever seen 4 at the same time though! one has shed its skin this morning.

To answer the above question my tank is a Juwel Trigon 350 (350 litres)
