Im really tempted to split my 10 gallon tank either in 2 or maybe 3 but would this be ok? My brother used to keep a chameleon in it as its a vivarium type thing, the material is plastic mesh type stuff and as its black you wouldnt see through it easily so wouldnt stress the fish out too much by being able to see eachother.
I have to find out ASAP as there are a few stunning betta left on a site that I want and if this would be OK I could reserve them and make the dividers! Then I just have to make my partner order them for me lol but he said if I had the divider sorted he would!
Thanks!

You would have to make sure it was ultra cleaned. If its like plastic canvas its probably ok to use. But Id be worried that I hadnt cleaned it properly with all the edges

Its got tiny holes all the way over, its hard to explain, Ill try find a pic of one on a site and put it up on here.

Ok, this is the best pic I can get.
What do you think? I could make a stand for it out of some plastic tubing so I would not have to glue anything to the glass and it wouldnt tip over either way.

You could always use plastic canvas, the type used for sewing, with page binders on the edges for rigidity. Cheap and easy to make and no worries about chemicals. If you can't find it in a shop, ebay sell it. :good:

Ive seen the plastic canvas on ebay, Im just worried its so easy to see through the bettas will just stay up at the plastic trying to attack eachother and end up damaging theirselfs. I think if I do it, Ill either use coloured plexiglass and drill holes through myself or maybe buy 2 smaller plastic tanks, one for Spike and one for another betta.
But then should I get another one atall 'cos I will just become more addicted lol! Well I definitly want another one, its just making decisions on how to get another one!
Thanks everyone!

I have 2 dividers in one of my tanks, making 3 sections, with the middle section just big enough to house the filter which sits on the back of the tank, pointing forwards. There is a male either side and they don't appear to see each other. This way, neither of the fish has to put up with the current from the filter. :good:
