hi all, i was wondering if you could help me...

this morning when i (eventually) got up, i noticed some rather strange looking pink blobs with "fluff" surrounding them, and have been wondering for a while 'what could they be??!' i've tried googling it and looking about through here, but cant seem to find anything! anyway, heres a pic:

p.s. sorry if you dont think this in an emergency, but i couldnt work out how to post a pic in the other sections!

cheers

nope. well, i gave them some blood worms about two days ago, but they ate all of them. its just wierd how they magically appeared overnight...

are you sure nothing that can break down that is pink has dropped into the tank...or something of a similar colour what do you feed your fish each day?

i dont think it could be food, although i do feed them bloodworm every other day, so i guess some of that may have got left there, although i usually hoover it up.

egg sacs for what?? i only have a few tetras and some platties in the tank, so i wouldnt have thaught they would be...

Could it be fungus? o_O;; Or someone put something in the tank? It kind of looks like trout bait, but did you add that fuzzywhatever around it, or is that what's actually around it? o.o;; Either way~ Check see if you fish lay 'pink eggs'. It sounds funny, but this is my suggestion. x.X; But, yeah, if they are't eggs, or something important, I'd just suggest removing them as soon as possible.

Edit: The more I look at it, actually, they kind of do look like eggs.. O-o;;; Maybe I'm going insane.

thanks for the replies guys. i went to the lfs earlier today and spoke to some of the guys in there. after much debating, they concluded that it was fungus that grew, probably due to over feeding them. the fish seem to have eaten it all now, and some of it has been sucked into the filter. with any luck it shouldnt come back, as long as i cut back on the feeding, and make sure that i dont miss any spots when i'm hoovering!

thanks for all the help guys :good:
