Great...looks like you are taking your time...the KEY to successful nano reefing. Many nano'ers find themselves in trouble when they plunk in corals within a few weeks of cycling and then find themselves losing lot's of money when hair algae and cyanobacteria hit them. Keep on taking your time and your reef will come. Beauty comes slowly, disaster comes quickly. SH

Hey all... added my second batch of the clean up crew today

2 cerith snails
3 blue legged hermits

I am amazed at my lfs and how nice they keep their tanks.. how healthy everything is.... it makes me happy. I was able to acclamate both batches of my clean up crew (the one last week seperate of corse) each in under a half hour. provided I live only 20 min from the lfs. they really know thier stuff and have been there for YEARS... I remember going as a little kid into that store. its great to have such a great source!

specs just incase anyone is curious

temp 78
SG 1.023 (diluted the mixutre a bit to much on the water change.. but should be back up in a few days)

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 2 (ish)
dKH 10
Calcium 400
Phosphate 0

so far so good....
doing 6gallon water changes once a week for right now then once I have all the stock in and balanced.. it will be 4g once a week

as for the snail and hermit poop... man they really know how... Im supprised at how much comes out of those little bodies! anything I can do other than syphon it out?

we will see how things go...

next week maybe a shrimp hehe... that would be fun! i just hit week 6 things are really starting to mellow out which is nice!

Wicked. Things are coming along very nicely. A drivers license DEFFINATELY helps in this hobby. :D Now I travel pretty far to suss out coral shipments..... :shifty:

I agree with that! I have a few places I COULD go.. but my work schedule limits how far I can drive before the normal mom and pop lfs close for the day. I will soon find some fun places now that I am awake with the living and not with the night riders.lol
