Tank Updates

View attachment 40705Hey all, I just thought I would see if these specs are alright for uncured live rock on it's forth day in the tank.. my sg dropped like crazy (not sure how) to 1.016 and have got it back to 1.019.. over couple days get it up to 1.025

temp. 79
Ph 8.2 (will work out cause of water changes cause of sg)
Ammonia: (was 4 yesterday today 3ppm)
Nitrite (yesterday undetectable) today 3ppm
Nitrate 10ppm
Phos -undetectable (phosx sponge supposed to work on phos,nitrite, and nitrate)

I went ahead and added the penguin biowheel (WITHOUT the biowheel itself.. just some added macanical filtration) and am just using filter floss (will be changed out once a week)and purgein(sp) I like the extra movement while cycling.. having some fun stuff pop up.. and and cleaning off the dead and dying junk daily (overkill?)


anyway here are some pics

this is my pooch (soon to be pooch mom Ping Lee 7weeks along) helping me do some research (I think I tukered her out) and maybe just maybe she found a spieces of fish she likes (sorry ping no lion fish in our tank) maybe i gave her the wrong idea of the fish we want

looks good so far whats the tank specs and what do u want to keep?

(havent decided on a aquascape... just tryin to keep water flow on all sides to blow off dibree .. I have some epoxy for when I really buckle down and see something I like.

not sure on the corals yet but thinkin about (still hvae to look into it and examine my tank set up to see if it could fly) is
open brain corals (beautiful)
basic softies
basic mushroom corals
and not sure what else... nothing stinggy or with any major sweepers (or at least MEAN... want nice happy corals)

as for fishies... 1 6line warrasse 1neon blue gobie 1 yellow watchman gobie
Inverts standard clean up crew...ssnails crabs hermits 1peperment shrimp, 1 scarlet skunk

and who knows whatelse... may eventually upgrade lighting to do hard corals... cause I like um..

sounds like its goin to b a great set up

I'd be a little more concerned about why your sg dropped so drastically... That doesnt usually happen. If I were you, I'd have my LFS verify my reading just for piece of mind

I think it was my hydro meter.. so I went and bought anothr one (swing needle type) just to be sure was using the glass bobbing one not sure how accurate it was... my funds are a bit depleated right now but getting a promotion at work so in a week or two I am hoping to buy a qulity refractometer thingy....... but had already done the water change... .. It maybe also that i deluted the change water a bit much and added before I checked th tank sg.. so it may have brought it down.
