Hey Sp00ky,
:X Darn, I guess I shall keep me look out still. There got to be somewhere in U.S. Preferably somewhere near West Coast. Thanks for the info though. I don't know much about your money(can't even find the symbol in my keyboard. I imagine somewhere but I just don't know how to bring it up.) But that sounds like not terribly expensive. Not much more than what I paid for the REGULAR Sterbai I think.
Who knows, if I can keep my regular guys happy and get billion offsprings, I may get a 1 or 2 Albino? What is the chance. 1 in million?
Well someday I hope I get some of them. I sure like them better than other Albinos.

Hi NEONCORY

Two week ago I able to get 2 and 4 albino sterbai from my LFS but they are out now, it cost arount $12.99-14.99 and fish size a little over inch.

I will keep eyes on for more and if they have will let you know when they instock.

Hey now hold on a minute are you me old chum spooks with the discus :good:

Thanks for the info. I wish your LFS is close to me. Unfortunately not. And I know that is the only way to find the fish that you have been looking for sometime. That is mail order. I am not crazy about it. Maybe it just because I got all DOA fish when I first ever ordered the fish over online. I know that is how the fish store get them fish also. By mail. I'm sure some doesn't make the trip. Not to mention the shipping cost which probably bring the fish price up to $20/fish even if I buy 6. And right now I don't think I can afford them.
I just hope I can find them somewhere nearer. Preferably LFS. Maybe CA or OR or MN. I probably should special order when I have some money to spend.
Anyway, thanks for the offer but probably I can't afford right now even if they re-stock them again. However, you can do me a favor. If you go to same store again, you can ask where the Albino Sterbai are coming from(their supplier location) for me. Country, State whatever. That would be appreciated. Who knows maybe West Coast although my guess would be FL. Or if my memory is correct I think I heard they came from Europe originally.
That would be really awesome if I can get them some albino and grow them with regular Sterbai. After I finally got them regular Sterbai on sale @ LFS few months back. I got few projects I need to do anyway. Create background with styraform and concreate , build canopy with lights for my new 55G tank, grow many Panda cory frys to young, breed Neon Tetras, breed Glowlight Tetras, grow and breed Diamond Tetras, etc.
And I need to work between the all the projects. :shifty:
But you can mark my word, I shall get them Albino Sterbai some day!

I believed that most of the Albino Sterbai in USA are order either from Supply in Singapore, Taiwan, and HK.

You can checking with your LFS not petco or petsmart, and asking them if they can order Ablino Sterbai. From the shop you get your Reg Sterbai usually they can get it. It take time to find Albino Sterbai and I know soon you will find it.

My LFS has a few Sterbai. Are they rare?
I don't think REGULAR Sterbai is rare. Since they have been around. They sure are not like newly found Cory or the one with C #. However, Albino Sterbai is much rarer than Regular Sterbai since they are much recent addition than the regular ones.
Although they are not rare IMO, they can be hard to find sometime in some location. Here is my guess. Since they grow painfully slow. And they are pretty popular and they have more demand than supply. And they still tend to command good price. And I hear that they are harder to breed. I don't know how hard since I have youngs need to grow. Hopefully, sometime next year I can try to breed them. :shifty:

It takes some time to come up with some money also. So it's ok. Although it would be nice to be soon since they grow so slow. And I imagine Albino would be same if not slower. But I do like to grow my fish instead of getting adult. Someday I'll get them.....

hiya mate. the chances of you getting and albino sterbai from normal sterbai parents is zero.

Sp00ky, Can we see your Albino Strbai pictures pictures and pictures. We are waiting to them. :hyper: :hyper:

What! Not even a 1 in million chance or winning lotto. I guess I should buy lotto tickets than waiting albino fry to show up from the regular Sterbai then.

Or you can start breed your Albino Sterbai and offer to your neighbor fish keeper. S/he do the same. And so on and so on. Just make sure that they are heading to same direction toward Seattle USA. And I should get your Albino Sterbai decendants in say 50 years. Just make sure give your neighbor a good deal like 50 % of going price. And when everyone after you do that. I should get them in couple of cents by the time I get them. :good:

So start feeding them well and changing water often PLEASE!

Going to disagree with you mate, it is possible to get albinos from from normal parents just not very common

Why, of course. Where does the first albino come from, if not from "regular" parents.

I currently have 3 albino C. venezuelanus. from wild parents. They are currently running at 1% of each spawn. I have now put the oldest albino female with her father for breeding purposes.

Albinos occur in Corys at random in nature. They are usually the weakest of the spawn and the first to be eaten. That is why they are not collected in their natural habitat. Regatds, - Frank
