Hi all, I'm going to run a test for a while with JBL 7 balls fertilizer. I've been after these for a long time and they have finaly got them in stock at one of my lfs for £3.35.

so here's a few pics a whole tank one and pics of the fertilizer.

The only plants i've used the balls on are the sword on the right hand side (2 balls used ) and the one in the centre ( 1 ball used ) don't know the plant name. so if any one can tell me what plant it is i'd be very happy to know

12 months? I'm surprised at that (not saying it's not true though!). It's just that the Seachem and other ones I have used seem to disintegrate in no time at all - I can see them being hoovered up when I gravel vac :/

Be interested to hear what other people's personal long term experiences of these balls is. -_-

Nice tank BTW :good:

thats for one why i'm doing this, i've never seen anyone using these on this forum,or any other, so i guess thats why i'm doing it.

I've used seachem's root tablets before and got great results, but they where like 10 years old. Tride to get hold of them again  no one sold them around here.

Looked on the net, the only thing around was JBL balls (but could never get them local)at a good price.

Nice tank BTW
thank you very much it has been better but i got a big grouth of hair algea and stopped CO2 + ferts

I have to say that I have stopped bothering to rely on the lfs when it comes to buying supplies for the tank - for fish stuff they're ok, but they don't seem to care about the planted tanks out there!

I rely on aquaessentials for planted supplies. They have lots of everything - I saw the JBL balls on there last time I was looking, but decided to go for the Seachem this time...

Good luck! I'll be looking forward to the updates... :p

Well it's now six days later and you can already see a difference with the sword on the right.

Two days ago I came home from work to see my swords pearling :D Even if it was from the damaged holes in the leaves. This is something i've only seen in my tank during a water change. Only to arrive home from work the day after to two burnt out tubes :-( . Went off to the lfs to get new ones, only to realise when I got home i'd got the wrong ones. DOOHHH!!!

Got the right ones today :D and about ten minutes after I fitting them ...............I see bubbles. So hopefully tomorrow they'll be going pearling like mad.
