Great job! I hope to see some developments in the fry! (meaning more pics with the same stunning quality you're using.)

Aww there very cute i want 1 :D lol keep it up and keep posting us pictures of ur improvement.

Hi Mark122 :)

Those are some fine looking fry!

It's good to see that you have them in a big tank so they have lots of room to grow. Will you be putting some sand in there soon?

Your adult fish are especially handsome too. :D

The fry were born on the 6th of this month so makes them nearly a month old, i also have fry just over a week old in there too all doing fine.

There is 18 of the older batch and about 25 of the younger.

I am just about to head out and buy sand now, hours of washing ahead

The adults were one my first first tropical fish, i got 4 to start with and 1 died 2 days after I brought them home. That left me with 3. I was in the LFS 2 months later and they had 1 left in a tank on his own. I HAD to buy him

I think i will keep 5 myself and my girlfriend wants 5 for her tank.

Cheers for the comments guys.

A few hours later. :)

Hey those little guys are awesome

I like the way you clean out your sand - makes sense
Thanks for the idea - hope you don't mind

Good luck with those little - I'm sure they wont be a handful for you

Hi Mark122 :)

I'll bet those little guys can't figure out what happened. I always feel a little sad and a little proud when I put sand in a fry tank. It means my little guys aren't little babies any more.

It might be a good idea for you remove some of the sand though. As a rule it's best to keep it between a half inch to an inch deep. Any more than that and you run the risk of having problems with anaerobic bacteria causing gas pockets to form in it.

I didn't level the sand out right, Its now just about an inch and a bit. I like it deeper for the plants. It will get stired up abit each week anyways when i do a vac and stuff.

I'm heading away on work for the next 4-5 days so time to write out a detailed list of things for my sister to do regarding the tanks, Great! :shout:

lol, going away for 4-5days, I wont stay at my GF's house for one night when I have fry, as I want to look after them, as my parents, even though they used to keep fish, managed to kill two of my upside down cats when I went away on holiday year before last.

so doubt they could feed and clean my fry with killing them all, well I'n not much better with fry but meh!
