Hi,

I have a 5x2x2 marine tank with T5s and thinking of adding some Metal Halites.

Would it be possible to use Marine Aquarium Metal Halide bulbs in standard Metal Halide High Performance Floodlight units built for domestic purposes such as the ones in the photos below?

Your contribution would greatly appreciated.

Hai

I have seen people using these floodlights, so I don't think its a problem at all.

So long as it is a Metal Halide ballast it will work perfectly. There is a post on doing this in DIY I think somewhere by Petpirates.

My MH are ex shop lights. You can get great deals from ebay on ex shop stuff, just grab a MH bulb (£20 from petpirates) and away you go.
