If you have a wad of money sitting burning a 'ole in yer pocket they get a Tunze Stream

Alternatively you can go for a Seio Powerhead or 2 - very powerfull, extremelly easy to use & a good bit cheaper than Tunze, Oh & they are now available in the UK, I had to get mine from Singapore

I personally would go for the following Seios

2 x M1100 (1100 gph each)

or 1 x M110 & 1 x M820 (1100 gph & 820 gph)

:good:

PS dont worry about blowing your fish away, they will be fine (I also aim 1 of my Seios at the surface- be carefull not to splash the roof- they are powerfull)

both of those are a possibility so thanks for the links :)

wouldnt one huge pump like that just be like tornado running through the tank?

Surprisingly no

When I 1st moved on to Seios I was bit worried but I had 3 Seios in my 90g before moving over to a CL System, now I have 1 x M820 & 1 x 620 (ie 32x tank volume) in my 45g, & have no problems with Algea, Detritus & all my Livestock are fine :good: & no Flying liverock

(My 90g tank was smashed :X )

i think a m1500 it is then :) 6000 lph mmmmm feel the rush :)

over 10000lph movement then total :) about 25x the volume :)

Throw in some cloths & some Bold & you have yourself a washing machine there

:good:

the seio power heads deffo come recomended from me!
instead of giving a jet of water, like conventional power heads, they give a wide flow. the 820's are only £35 on e-bay too.......well if your in the UK they are.

heya guys!!!

be carefull with the T5 lights as I have split loads & loads & loa................ blah blah blah

yeah they did seem a bit long and flimsey!! i did have the full lenght T5's in my old tank though so i know what they are like!!

i cant believe the growth in the last 4 hours with the new lights on its unbelievable!!!

ive had to turn me heaters right down though, practically off as the lights are heating up the water something cronic!!

all im waiting for is my ozone generator and im then sorted for all the kit i want :D

does anyone know the best place to get clean up crew online??? ive been to my two local LFS both of which are normally very good and not a crab in site!!! with the new lights and algea growth i need some dudes in there to start munching it!!

May be an idea to add a PC Fan or 2 into the hood

When I used T5 PC's I had 2 x 4" PC Fans in my hood to keep my tank temp constant

There are a good few places that will send Livestock overnight, just remember that you will have a carriage charge on top of the cost (Usually about 14.00)

Here are a couple of places I have bought from in the past

Coral Farm

STM

Tropical Aquatics

Just marine

Happy Shopping

:good:

PS there are also people on Ebay that sell Inverts at some decent prices

i am setting up my marine tank and where did you get that rock it is lush my lfs's never have it.
p.s does any know if madienhead aquatics would sell it.

My live rock came from a place called Wetpets in Romford they are a quality establishment and all their stock is first rate!! im not sure but they may send it to you if you ask nicely!

the base rock is kenyan ocean rock, i find it to be an excellent base rock, not great when you first put it in as it doesnt do alot for your water but it seeds from the live rock very well and has LOADS of swim through's and nock and crannys the fish and inverts love :)

Chac my lights are very close to the water surface and because of the way the tank is setup ie jewel its gonna be near on impossible to get fans in there! any other suggestions other than a chiller?? ie more mega expense!!

ill get a pic up of how i installed the lights so you get an idea, at present my tank sits at a constant 29 degrees 4 higher than i would like it to be

cheers
Andy

27c is fine mate - as long as it is constant

As I say you can add a couple of PC fans into the hood
