Jump,
Anytime at the weekend should be OK - not too early in the morning though
Not sure which way round is best - whether to give him time to settle in or to have the females there first. May be someone on here can help, could be worth posting in the cichlids section.
Set up is tap water - except that recently water changes are being made with DI water, I shouldn't imagine it has made much difference yet.
The water round here is quite hard so there is peat filtration in the tank, also helps keep the ph down. I will do some tests and let you know the results. I have found kribs to be quite hardy and they usually adapt quite well.
In the 170l tank there are the krib parents and six other siblings, two large black angels, two medium bristlenose and one smaller one, three yo-yo loaches, three striped loaches, two pairs threadfin rainbows, two SAE (which are looking more like CAEs every week
), three otos and an armoured shrimp. The kribs seem to get on with all the others OK except that the parents don't like anyone going too close to their spawning cave.
Cheers, Eddie.
