A couple of shots of my home grown kribs - they are about six-seven months old now. Seven made it through to this stage from about twenty fry. They are going to have to leave home soon......

very nice looking kribs Eddie!! nice photos....

If you're looking for homes for any of them, perhaps I can help?? Was thinking of some for my 75gal...... :D

JumpMan,

I wouldn't advise having a pair from my stock - most are male anyway :)

I can certainly let you have a male one and then if you get a female from elsewhere this should avoid quite so much inbreeding.

Let me know if/when you want one and we can make some arrangements. Looks like I'm going to have to dig out the Trap-Eze.....

Cheers, Eddie

Cheers Eddie,

Would take a male of your hands no probs...my lfs has females so I'm sure I could find him a companion (or 2! )

Where are you in London? I'm in Wimbledon...

I'm over in the London Bridge/Old Kent Road area so shouldn't be too difficult to arrange a meet, especially if you are near South Wimbledon tube.

Could arrange to meet up one weekend, or I could do an evening at a push but would mean going home after work, catching the bugger and then coming back. Let me know which suits you.

Cheers, Eddie

Well if Eddie has gone to all this trouble to lure me to a tube station and mug me then so be it! I'll make sure I leave my wallet at home, or I'll bring a :D

Eddie, London Bridge tube would suit me fine. I will actually be passing through London Bridge tube at about 10.20 or so tomorrow night if that is a possibility??

Let me know, if not perhaps the weekend??

JumpMan,

Sorry, didn't get your post until this morning - I've arranged to meet up with an ex-colleague tonight so won't be able to do it.

Give me a bit more notice next time you are passing through and I am sure we can arrange something, or we can sort out a weekend. Weekend is probably best as we should be able to make sure he doesn't stay in the bag for quite so long.

I promise I will leave the heavies at home :smb: so you won't need to worry about getting mugged :p

Cheers, Eddie

No worries Eddie.....maybe I could prepare for his arrival by having a couple of ladies ready to greet him?!! :D

Could maybe arrange something for this weekend if you like, let me know any time at the weekend that is convenient....

How have you got them set up at the moment by the way? (tap water? RO? Any tank mates etc??

Jump,

Anytime at the weekend should be OK - not too early in the morning though :)

Not sure which way round is best - whether to give him time to settle in or to have the females there first. May be someone on here can help, could be worth posting in the cichlids section.

Set up is tap water - except that recently water changes are being made with DI water, I shouldn't imagine it has made much difference yet.

The water round here is quite hard so there is peat filtration in the tank, also helps keep the ph down. I will do some tests and let you know the results. I have found kribs to be quite hardy and they usually adapt quite well.

In the 170l tank there are the krib parents and six other siblings, two large black angels, two medium bristlenose and one smaller one, three yo-yo loaches, three striped loaches, two pairs threadfin rainbows, two SAE (which are looking more like CAEs every week :( ), three otos and an armoured shrimp. The kribs seem to get on with all the others OK except that the parents don't like anyone going too close to their spawning cave.

Cheers, Eddie.

Eddie,

lol, won't be too early don't worry! Especially not on Sunday morning as the rugby final is on!! :D

Well at least he'll have familiar surroundings, I have to large angels in the tank, as well as two bristlenose!! (and 2 synodontis cats) it is 75g.

This weekend is sounding promising then, I have posted in the chiclid section for advice on introducing them, and will see what everyone thinks.

All being well I could have them all in by the end of the weekend which would be nice!

Maybe at some point we could pm phone numbers and work it out from there later in the week.

cheers
