The slimmer one is a Cerith Snail and on one riding it's back is an Astrea Snail. Between them and their colleagues they keep the glass reasonably clean and stir up the sand nicely.

I've got 3 of the golden apple snails - they're so pretty 
- but yours have really cool shells

I should have mentioned - these are marine snails. There seems to be a bit more choice of beneficial snails for marine tanks.

ah, makes sense! i've never seen any like those cos i only look at freshwater gubbins!
