Greetings From Thailand

Hi all. After going through some crisis (snail invasion, tank leak, etc ...) I've finally started my tank all over again.

I've got a 70 gallon tank with ...
10 cardinal tetras
10 serpea tetras (long-fin)
2 dwarf gauramis
2 killies (red-blue don't know which breed)
2 blue rams (long-fin, short-body)
2 apistogramma trifasciata "guaporé"
2 ottos
2 cories
and a few more that I don't know what they're called

the fish with no name i think is a synodontis multipunctatus,
which i belive to be found in lake tanginika in africa

memnon, thanks for the tip. Sometimes it's really difficult to find the fish name here in Thailand because of the language different. But I think that's the name because the seller told me just 'multi'

and damn hard to get hold of i wanted one for my tang tank

AlexAndCarmen & RadaR, thank you. A couple of years back, breeders in Thailand were able to breed the blue ram into short body with long tail. They also bred searpea tetras into long tail. The traditional ones are now completely gone from the market.

The long tail serpea tetras are a little coo-coo in thier heads though. First I got 5 of them for my tank and they would spread out through out the tank and wouldn't move anywhere even though they're supposed to be schooling fish. Now when I got another 5 for the tank, sometimes they would become territorial and make their fins all fluff up when other serpea come near by and would go chasing nipping each other fins. But sometimes they would just swim together like they're best friends.

BigIan, I got the last multi from the pet store 4-5 year ago. And I've never seen them anywhere ever since. I'm so glad I got him. I have a question for you. I also love to keep my betta in a well planted tank with fun things for the betta to explore. I just love to see their behaviors. But what kind of filtration do you use for your betta? When I tried the hanging type, the water comes out too strong and my betta just hated that. I guess he's not used to the current and refused to swim anywhere.

From looking at what fish you have im guessing your water is acidic and soft, lucky.

Radar, I've never tested the water so I don't really know their pH and all. The water in my tank is actually drinking water I put the hose in the drinkin filter machine and drag it right into the tank. I figured if we can drink it, the fish should be able to live in it fine. The seem to love it. Everytime I change the water, they would get excited.

Though, I have a problem with little tiny white dots that float everywhere in the water. They look like dust but when I look them up real close, the ones that cling on the glass seemed to be able to claw on the glass against the current. Is there a way to identify if they're alive or just dust?
