if i get a powerhead to increase flow (im getting a sanchez) will it disrupt the co2/ferts and stuff?

i figure if its under the water line then it doesnt really affect surface agitation

am i right?

p.s: heres the tank :good:

yay! happy signs on me!!!!

:d:D:d:D:d:D:d:D:D

wait, beofre i do this, you guys are POSITIVE that it wont affect it?

Yeh it shouldn't, to be honest there is now a school of thought that says that moderate surface agitation will not only not affect CO2 but can be good for the plants, so don't worry about it. As long as you can keep the CO2 at 30ppm you should be fine.

Sam

EDIT - nice looking tank BTW :)

ive got 2 2l bottles of c02 going into this tank and the highest ive ever gotten is 16ppm

i was thinking of putting both bottles in a heated 10g tank and putting it under the 35g

so it keeps the bottles at a temp of 80 degrees

you think that would help make them last longer and give out more bubbles? i just rest them on the canopy right now

It would probably increase the amount of CO2 produced but that would reduce how long they last. You could add a third one or get a pressurised kit?

Sam

well im gonna keep only 2 2l bottles.

i set it up a couple of minutes ago.

i put the 10g under the 35g and was feeding it through the powerhead.

i stopped it since the water started going back in the co2 bottles

before i didnt need one of those check valves but now i know its worth it some im gonna go get 1 tomorrow.

and im not gonna use 3 since i already change my co2 every week
