Just wondering at what temperature fish should overheat and die at? Last time I checked tank read 94F...sure water feels warm...like normal...but did turn heater way down yesterday just in case......and no fish have perished or even acted ill...so must just be garbage time for the little thermometer (sticks in tank with suction cup)....shouldn't fish be pretty dead by now if it was really 94F? Please let me know! Gonna attach a couple crappy pix of tank to see if it works...yes there are really fish in there but they were too busy checkin out new furniture to actually swim...

yes i would say 94F is dangerous, i think anythign above about 84/86 is cause for concern

If your temp has suddenly risen to this and despite turning it right down the temp is still this high then I reckon your thermostat's bust. You need to turn it off straight away, then leave it about 20 mins or so to cool down then take it out of the water (if you don't wait it may shatter). Go out and get a new heater and get it on the tank and set to a sensible level asap. about 80F is right.

you said it feels pretty warm, keep in mind this is in comparison to body temp and not room temp, therefor a 80degree tank would have a slightly cool feeling, and if the water is feeling warm then it is over your body temp and probably bad for the fish.....
