Over the weekend perfectly well fish, stats ok, no change in habits seemed excellent! just checked on them after work tonight.

What seems like finrot? Possibly, I can see white bone like objects, about 5mm long. Appearing in there fins, or in the ballon mollies case just next to side fin.

Would this be fint-rot or possibly another disease? I have enclosed a pic of my platy, which seems to be the worst of the lot.

ballon molly, guppy and platy all seem to be infected!

If infection is the case, what meds do you recommend for 25ltr (uk) tank?

Don't no what you mean really, you mean there a growth on the fish, like a clump or berries or a cauliflower, or do you mean a parasite like nylon with a forked tail.
The pic is to blurry to see.

If it is parasites, something like waterlife sterazin might help. But be sure it is parasites first. The wrong treatment will only delay the cure.

Yes, sort of like white cotton/nylon attaching itself to fins with forked tails, is this parasites?

-----< (looks bit like that)

How would I treat this illness effectively??

Yes anchor worm, you will need anti crustaceon med by interpet but it will wipe your bacteria colony out in the tank.

No 12 Anti Crustacean & Parasite 100ml
ANTI CRUSTACEAN PARASITE No 12 : Eliminates anchor
worm, fish lice, gill maggots and leeches.

Larger higher level parasites can be introduced into the aquarium on new fish or plants. They cause life-threatening damage and should be eradicated quickly.

Crustacean parasites are very difficult to eradicate so this treatment is powerful. Therefore, take care to carefully follow all instructions and note all warnings

For use with coldwater and tropical fish in marine and freshwater systems

WARNING: This treatment negatively affects biological filtration.
Damages Plants
Do not use with UV filters
Do not use below pH 6.5
For Marines, use only in separate treatment aquarium
Use only if sure of diagnosis

Cupramine and Anchor Worm Information

Been to lfs today to buy #12 Anti Crustacean & parasite 100ml.

They have informed me along with another lfs I went to for another opinion, this formula has been took of the shelfs because "it was doing more harm than good!"

Instead I have been perscribed:

CUPRAMINE

buffered Active Copper

Seachem

---------------------------------

Both swear by this formula, and said has been proven to work used on infected stock!

Has anybody got any opinions on this method?
