Some pics from my semi aggro tank... loaches, tiger barbs and an rtbs live here...... Sorry, not the best quality on some of these shots.. they're just all so quick!!!
This one isn't the greatest pic of the Schistura because he's behind a blob of algae , but it gives a good idea of how little they and the baby yo yos are, compared to the tiger barb.
Here's the smaller of my two skunk botias. The larger of the two refused to participate in this photo shoot (and every single other one I've ever done )
Great pics! your loaches are fantastic (I love loaches!)
the second pic....what is that? it looks almost identical to my red tailed zebra loaches (they're so mean!)
It's a Schistura... I think it's a menenensis.. It was labelled as a 'red tailed sandbar loach' at my lfs ... of course, there's no such thing. lol They only got three in, so of course I had to buy them all. I just got them yesterday and they are MEEEEEEEEAN. They're sooo tiny, but they're throwin' down in that tank!! They're not very common and don't even have a common name. I did show a pic of one to a very knowledgable loach person earlier today though, and he confirmed that they're schisturas.
well...I love em! They're just too cute. I love my little zebras too, I searched for info on them when I first brought them home and only found one website and the info was scarce , but whew, they're pretty tough for being so tiny. I watched them kill an otto so quickly I didn't have a chance to save him and when I dumped the kuhlie loaches in their tank yesterday...err uhhm, they weren't too receptive of their new tank mates
I love your skunks too and , I just noticed you already said what those loaches were called up there, sorry about that )
Yeah, these little guys look more like kuhlis than skunks or yo yos and I was worried about putting such tiny fish in with such aggro ones. That's pretty funny, in retrospect. They're layin' down the law in there!! I love them, though. It's so fun when you find an unusual fish.
Yeah CFC... loaches can be pretty tough to identify! There are so many similar ones. I saw these at the lfs and had no clue what they were. I looked through a million pics online, and the sch. were the ones that looked like them. Graeme says Oreonectes are still part of the Sch. family? I dunno man. I just dig my lil loachies.
