I found her when I lived in Spokane, Washington about 7(?) years ago. I was little then, and this dog comes running out of the forest at me, I got so scared but looked back as I ran away from it and noticed it had a happy looking face and so I stopped and it jumped on me and started licking me all over! So, I took her home. We already had one dog, Kirby, he's a cute little guy as well so we were worried of his reaction to the new dog, he hated others. But, he FLIPPED. He loved her right off the bat. As time went on, we finally found the owners (I shared with the class that I had found a dog and the owner's daughter was in the class). Anyway, they came to our house to pick her up, but thing is, it was clear she was beaten, never fed, and they didn't even notice she had been missing. When the man came to the door, my mom spoke to him as Audrey and i stood behind her, Audrey was VERY scared of him. So my mom said, "Actually, we're just going to keep her. We'll moving to Portland so you won't be able to see her either." and the guy just said, "Oh... I guess that'd be best..." and that was it. ANYWAY, now we're in Southern California and she's still my best bud, just like she was when she was first found, here she is!!!

She's beautiful, and good on you for rescuing her. In my experience, animals seem to know how lucky they are when rescued and become excellent companions.

She's the greatest, happiest dog, she's awesome. It's sad, she still gets scared of loud noises and sometimes gets scared of my dad. I'm assuming that's because her old owner beat her. When we took her to the vet they said she had been beaten probably... very, very sad. I've never even spanked her! She loves it here in California, haha. I just bought her a HUGE bone that she can barely even carry.
