Hi there.
Heres my new setup. Currently running an Eheim 2028 as a dedicated undergravel filter, and an upgraded Juwel internal Standard H, running at 1500lph. Just put the plants in today, and have diy co2 and plan to start on EI. Have fitted reflectors and triplus tubes, but still only standard lighting running at 80 Watts.

All comments welcome.

The tank is home to 2 angels, 5 black widow tetras, 2 Swordtails, 1 Red-Tail shark, 2 Pakistani Loach, 1 Common Plec, 6 Blue Tetras, 1 Honey Gourami and a Featherfin Catfish - sold to me as an upside-down cat.

All comments welcome.

Ill have to see. Its only 7 inches at th mo, but i plan to get ahold of a Rena 2 metre tank within a year, but if it grows too fast ill have to rehome him. This is a 4ft setup, so he will be okay for now.

I really like the background, but they are expensive !

Would be even nicer when the plants fill in

yeah that background is great ,, ive been looking for 1 like that for a juwel vision 450 ,, they are qwite expensive ,,
any ideas of where they can be purchased from at a reasonable price ,

I wish i could help. This is a 'back to nature', the best in the business at making backgrounds. They only make up to 4ft in thier Juwel series, and i paid £177 for this one.

However, i looked for a long time at getting one cheaper and i came up with another option. Theres a company in austria that makes all the epoxy rock walls you might have seen in mountaineering shops like Snow and Rock. I mailed them and they make them for - tadaaaaa...... aquariums at much cheaper prices in various styles. I think they were 100 Euros for 120cm by 60cm. Try looking at ebay.de (german eBay). They sell on there. Search the word 'Ruckwand'. I think the Bermuda style is best, but its all your choice.

Mail me if you need more help.

Wow , those are really nice on the german ebay, not bad prices either

Hi Spiceweasle.

Glad the background went in OK, looks good!

The 'Back-to-Nature' are silly prices but by far the best looking, they look even better in real life and begin to age a bit!

Would'nt be without mine! :D

That background is cool, I got the rocky background for my wifes Rio 240 tank and it cost £60 which I thought was steep but Im glad I got it as its now a good few months down the line and it looks better with the algae growing on it a bit (plus her apple snails keep it 'trimmed').

I takes up about and inch of the tank

but Im glad I spent the extra few quid

...however now that Ive seen yours Im very jealouse, yours was expensive I agree but when you consider the fantastic effect you have achieved and how much better your tank looks I think evrybody would agree...
...money WELL spent.

I get endless hours of sheer pleasure staring into my tanks (as I sure most people do) and its worth spending a bit of money on good decor and you have had your moneys worth in no time....good work fella!
