Well, my 'jungle' is starting to look a little too 'jungly' IMHO, so I will do some pruning and rearranging tonight (if the kids permit)! :/

I will photo the entire process and post either later tonight or in the next few days... ...going down the LFS in a mo to see what plants they got in (going to get rid of me vallis!)

Let me know if you are interested in this journal... ...don't want to do this just for the sake of doing it!

Hey. Tank looks much better now with another light bulb in there (only went for the one instead of two). Im interested in this journal. Don't know about the pic attatchments but yes i do like your avatar.

Yeah Chris keep us updated on the tank.
Im starting my tank up again soon - when 2nd tank is cycled all fish go in their new home and then its action stations with the planted tank. So picking up tips and ideas from here during the wait is great.

Would Wood put Woodyon his avatar? he wouln't would he - Woody? :whistle:

Thanks for the kind words and support! Much appreciated!

Well started the triming tonight and.... .....the tank started to look really unbalanced plant wise.... ....so ended up as pretty much a total strip-down!

This is what me tank looks like now :sad:

However, gives me some options about planting etc... ...some of my roots are incredible, the substrate additions really make a difference!

I am also changing my lighting regime to give the plants a rest in the middle of the day:

1st set of lamps: ON 7:45 AM OFF 1:45 PM ON 3:45 PM OFF 9:45 PM
2nd set of lamps: ON 8:00 AM OFF 2:0 PM ON 4:00 PM OFF 10:00 PM

The staggered ONs and OFFs are to make the lights going off and on a little less stressful on the fish (had to buy a second digital timer!).

Will keep you all updated with progression... ...welcome comments and suggestions

Chris, are you going to use the plants/drfitwood that were in there again in your new scape?
 
Hi Radar and Saboy,

Well I completed the re-planting at around 1:30 AM this morning :X and there is much more room at the front for the angels to swin around, but..... .....still not happy with the planting and may need to get some more plants!

Will update with pictures later tonight!

UPDATE

Well finished the planting tonight and I am much happier with the tank, there is much more room at the front for the angels to swim around in!

Also pleased with the new lighting regime and how the lights now dim slightly before going off completely.

Here's a picture of the tank tonight... ...let me know what you think!

Ive been lucky, I have not had any diseases for about 6 months now !


Could I have a bit of a rundown as to what plants you have in there,

I know one type is anubias, but which anubias ?
