Exactly the reason I have a large truck. Unfortunately I hit 2 deer while I lived in Wisconsin.

Tell me about it man, its crazy up here. When i lived in NC it was pretty rare that you would see deer at all let alone big ones, up here they practically jump out at ya. Luckily i have never hit any, because im absolutely certain that i would be killed in my little car and the deer would get up and walk away.

haha in pennsylvania, the deer are waiting on the side of the road then jump right before u get there, then about 4 baby deer folllow them, so u kill a whole family unless u can avoid them somehow. :/

To continue on the topic of camera traps. This photo was taken near Blodgett Forest Research station in the Sierra Nevada Mountains California in the summer of 2003 (I Think, well it was sent to me by a guy I was working with over there at the time and it is what he told me). In the picture you can see that the deer has absolutely no clue that it was about to be jumped on by the mountain lion. You would imagine with the deers heightened senses that it would have picked up the big cat.

This gave me real food for though as I often ventured out at night, to walk between cabins in the location that this photo was taken, and I by no means have the senses of a deer. That could have been me in that picture!!!
