So how did Stan take his hair cut? Is he hiding under the bed giving you the evil eye?

He wasnt too bad, he sat there for a bit whist i shaved him  , He must feel better it must be like taking a fur coat off!! I had to give him a bath with shampoo & conditioner also last night to clean the fur underneath. Didnt really like that!!

 We had to do that when our persian went missing for aboput a week and came back dragging half a hedge behind him  Its not easy to shave a cat is it?? Grooming each day is so much easier!!! :p

Grooming would probably be easier!!

So you just wanted to be mean and shave him??

We actually have one cat who we cant groom, but luckily she keeps herself looking perfect!!! She's VERY nervous (no idea why) and tries to shred any hands that even attempt to groom her  The other 4 queue up for their go at being brushed though

Stick to your dayjob Mantis ;)

I'm sure Stan is feeling a bit cooler now - but is his dignity dented ?

Btw. we had a persian in South Africa (hot hot hot) and he was completely OK without being shaved.
Was it just due to knotting that you wanted to shave him ? If so, you really just need to give him a 2 minute brush each day :)

Hi Bloo, Stan is a runt and he struggles to breath sometimes as his nose gets blocked up, but his fur was very long. with it getting warmer it wouldent help his breathing with a big coat like that! To be honest he seems happier and more playful not panting as much! I do brush them most days but i think stan needed a cut :good:

Ah shame - often a problems with Persians :/ luckily not a problem Chinchillas have (Chinchillas the cats - not the rodenty animal!).

Glad he's feeling better :good:

Well, he won't be so hot now. I'm surprised he let you do it, but again, it's like having a hot fur coat removed, so I'd be happy to let someone do it, if it were me.

I am so happy I have a Turkish Angora. Lovely long hair, none of the trouble. They only have the single coat, and I don't have to shave her. :hey:

But I do have to shave a male Pomeranian when I move back to Miami. he is just a mountain of hair.
