Hi All,
Just wondering if any of you guys have kept these fish from young and grown them on. If so can you remember what size they were when you could sex them. Both of mine are very close in size and conveniently one was layed out along the glass last night so I measured an SL of 12.5 cm.
Reason I'm asking is I found them both on the glass by 3 largish eggs last month and I'm wondering if I have a pair or 2 females (not sure of Loracids will lay eggs as two females like some cichlids do in the absence of a male).
I've had a good look at both of them and I'm not overly convinced that either fish show signs of odonticular (sp?) growth. I'll try to get a clear picture of both later on, see if I can bribe them to pose for a photo with a nice bit of courgette. Also when (fingers crossed) I get the pics could a loracid expert have a look to see if they are Sturisoma aureum or panamense.
Cheers
