My friend has gotten bored with the her fish and I ended up taking it off her hands, tank, fish the lot. I have managed to ID all the other fish (platties, guppies, angels, corys) and I know this is a pleco but not sure which type. Please can you help me, if it is one that is going to get too big i'd rather rehome it now while it is smaller.

Looks like a sailfin plec to me.
It will grow large.

Yep definitely a gibby. Should make up to 18 inches, maybe more. He's gorgeous!

Lol - yous isn't a gibby if it's got the opposite colours - it's an L001

That's a gibby (and doesn't have the opposite markings of the top one ). He's lovely

the top one looks more lightish brown,

mine is all dark, now i wanna go buy some more pleco's lol

When gibbies are teeny, they're creamy coloured with black spots, which changes to orange/tank with black spots as they grow. When you said yours had the "opposite" markings, I assumed you meant light spots on dark background, hence me saying L001, but he's not, he's a gibby too.

maby u 2 could work sumit out so that rosebud gets to rehome an see puics when ever you no he/she is goin 2 a gd home an u get 2 rehome
