Most of the cory eggs that I had a week ago have now hatched! Some hatched a few days ago, while others only hatched today. There are still 20 or so eggs waiting to be hatched. It was sad to throw away over a hundred eggs that had fungus on them, most of these were grouped together - I'd see a group of 20 eggs stuck together with some white stuff around it, which is fungus, correct?

Anyway, its almost impossible to count how many fry I've got as some are so tiny and are constantly swimming about, but I would say there are around 120 fry in the container they are housed in.

A small group of fry have grown so much that I can now clearly see their pectoral fins!! Its so cute seeing them swimming with their little pectoral fins!
These guys have grown to 15mm (1.5cm) including the tail, so I'm amazed at fast some of them have grown. :D

I've attached some pics, sorry about the image quality, I can't upload high resolution pics onto this forum.

Should I start feeding them some food now? Would the LFS have a range of food for feeding the fry? Last time I checked, they had some little worms, but I don't think they had just hatched baby brine shrimp.

Any pointers would be appreciated as the fry look heaps hungry at the moment! :fun:

The 2 pics below are of the 2 female bronze corys that layed the 500+ eggs over the past 5-6 days.

Since I've put a group of sterbai's into the same tank, the bronze corys' mating behaviour seemed to have died down somewhat.

wow thats alot of cory fry lol, have you already got a grow out tank set up?
keep us updated with pics
you should start feeding the corys around 2-3 days, thats what someone told me, because they have to absorb their yolk sacs :D

:kewlpics: Congrats, they are so gorgeous  I just love cory fry. They are so cute. You cory's are lovely too. They eventually slow down with the spawning, until they stop. Not for ever, but they do need to rest. :D Microworms are the easiest to feed them. But you do need to start cultures before the eggs hatch, because it takes between 2-5 days to become active. We normally feed the fry from about day 3. Good luck and keep those pics of the little cuties coming.

good pics,i will take some pics as soon as i get some batteries for the digital and post them for you to see.its amazing to see how fast they grow and change in the first few weeks.a magnifying glass is a must as you can see there little barbles & everything even when there dead young!
shaz :)

I'm still deciding whether I can afford to get another tank to raise the fry. There isn't much room left and honestly I don't know if the fry will even survive that long. I've started feeding them but they don't seem to have grown at all.

Thanks AlexAndCarmen, they are very active little buggers! They're so cute :D I need to get a magnifying glass to get a closer look at them!

Did your cory fry take long to grow to a size that looked more like a cory? My fry still look the same as the photo I posted a few days ago, like little tadpoles. Am I doing something wrong? I have been feeding them liquid fry food 4-5 times per day and changed 50% the water 3 times daily.

I wanted to post new pics of the fry and give an update on how they're doing but as mentioned in my other posts, they dont look to have grown at all. Maybe I'm just too impatient and should I wait a few more days to see if they start growing? I'd love to get a magnifying glass so I can see their barbles!!! Thats so cute.
