The Tank That Got Me Hooked

Both tanks look really nice! :)

I hate to be a downer too but I have to agree with what's already been said and I have to add that you need to watch the red-tailed shark. They can be very aggressive fish. I don't think the firemouths will have a problem, the gourami 'might' be a target, and RTS' tend to ignore tetras to a certain extent, but watch out for your platies and your barbs. If you see the RTS harrassing the other fish you may have to remove him. Just a word of caution to you..... :)

Thanks for that, but rest assured when the tank has finished cycling some of the fish will move

so far though, the RTS has been a good little fish and though territorial has not been harassing the other fish and as for him harassing the pink kisser, he is so territorial himself we had to take another pink kisser out the tank as he would not let it out from behind the filter and has even been known to chase the firemouths though only if they pick on him he does though tend to leave the others alone

Dont know why the kisser was like that with the other one they usually are good community fish and they were introduced to the tank in the early days.

If anyone out there can answer that let me know

Thanks

Even though you can say something like "all male bettas will chase male guppies", there will always be the exception to the rule. The fish apparently, don't read the manuals! ;) So your kisser is able to stand up for itself which is good, and the other kisser was probably a male as males will fight among themselves.

The good part is that now you know which fish would make good tank buddies - the gourami, firemouths and the RTS. :D

It's a pitty that even your 180L tank isnt big enough for 3 silver sharks or a kissing gourami.... I see problems ahead!

Us 2 but in the mean time to ease the overcrowding in Craigs (my son) tank the silver sharks have moved house
:shifty:

Well the fish tank has cycled

PH 7.2
Nitrate low
temp 27
ammonia 0

its time to add a couple of fishes so the 3 Silver sharks have moved to a new home :) for now and craigs tank looks better for it. But now he doesnt want to lose any more :-( I see more trouble ahead.

Theres a couple of pictures of the wee fishes in their new home as well as a couple of pictures of the final version of the tank as I just wasn't quite happy with the original layout and the fish didn,t realy have any where dark I changed it about and added a cave but because I had to go to work away from my tank  I wasnt able to post it till now.

So I will stop jabbering and you can have a look
