This is where I try different things. I finally got approval from my landlord for a larger tank so I'm off tomorrow to get one. I'm thinking 40gallons.

Here's my Lab.

20 gallon, 10 gallon, and a tiny 5 gallon.

I'm "adding" to the collection. The 40 is going in the living room. I think I've pretty much decided how I want to set it up.

I got the 5 gallon for free, and the 10 gallon came with the purchase of the 20 :hyper:

Bargain shopper!!!

If I was confident that my apartment floor would not cave in on the neighbors, I would just buy a BIG one. I guess I'll just slowly test the limits

Haha  let us know what size finally breaks the floor!

Yes that setup is, but your adding another 40Gallon hehe, and you have to think about the glass for all the tanks? It's not going to be the same as the other tanks, it's gonna be double, that's if they are in the same room (I see it said livingroom) oh well, a free bump! xP

Yep, the big tank is going to be planted. I experimented with different plants (sounds criminal) and pretty much have it narrowed down. I wanted to try some glosso, but have never been able to get any.

The cork is fun with the moss. I thought about a half water/half land setup (forget what they are called) but I don't really like lizards and such so nix that idea.

There is a really nice 40 gallon at one of my lfs that I like. There is also a wood stand and hood kit with a 30 gallon too. Choices..............

I suppose I should prepare for my first Journal, huh? Hmm......

What works in your small tank might not do as well in you 40gal, but it shoud give you an idea.

Have you read the pinned articals above, they will give you good insite and head start.
glosso need quite a lot of light to stop it from growing towards the surface, so reading up on light is a good idea.

Also if you plan on having a lot of light you will almost certanly need co2 of some description, and ferts are going to be a must to keep the algue monster at bay, this pinned atrical

Riverman, this sounds like a good opportunity to get a 40 gallon breeder. I love how these tanks look with the large footprint...but that's just me!
