That thing in pic. 9 looks like a platypus!?! wacko.gif What is it?

It's a type of gar. Not sure which type though, Tropical gar, Florida gar, or shortnose gar. Could be one of those or some other one. Probably spotted or tropical gar though.

I've seen a tanks kinda like that, but way bigger, cause there were sharks, and they sent down three scuba divers, 2 with these long, pointed poles, and one with a vacuum, and he had to vacuum with 2 guards. that would be scary.

This is how they clean at "Aquaria" in Kuala Lumpur

I was laughing so hard when I spotted the diver and realised he was just vacuuming like we all do but on a huge scale. It was funny.

Shame about the central american Cichlid (Veja synspillum) and North American garfish being in the Amzon exibit, sort of spoils its effect. :/

wow, now i cant wait for the academy of science to reopen in 2008  2 aligators, whole bunch of sharks, barracudas, piranhas, big coral reef. WOOH!!! if you ever come to the yay area, check it out its amazing. well worth the money, and the first wednesday of the month is free  too bad they arent done remodeling yet.

Thats one of them bubble divers that go up and down in the tank innit...

There are some nice fish in there, but as CFC said, its not a "real" amazonian biotope!

I wonder why those arowanas fins look ragged, something in there must be a real bully, maybe piranhas at feeding time?

The pic of that guy cleaning the tank in Kuala Lumpur sure is funny, it looks like a big office water cooler bottle with the bottom cut off attached to a big hose!

Ben

That Red-Tail Catfish in the 5th pic is huge! Thats a good picture to show how big they get. That tank is awesome. Very nice pictures

They have piranhas in that tank with all the other fish??
I hope your not confusing the large pacus as piranha!
