I got mine in their own little critter keepers...with their own little heaters...but not filters...they dont like them...well I tried 2 of mine and they didnt...I used to have gravel in the bottom but just use those lovely flat pebbles you can get really cheap! much easier to keep clean! Lovely set up though!!

Where are you going to get your bettas from? Have you any in mind?

Both look lovely, like the first one better.

thats what im wondering graham..there are no bettas in them yet.. way i see it is if it gets too warm, they switch off.ive set them both to 25oC so if it does warm up the temp still wont be too high.

Thanks everyone

sorry liz...ive got a mustard gas PK coming from kg's(bettaman) and maybe another, but ive seen a sorry looking male at petsathome..think i'll have to save him and put him in the 2.25gal...he's a vt though so i may have to remove the filter like you said, saying that the current really isnt very strong at all..its asjustable too :D

I love the look of the first tank, very natural looking.

I have a 50w heater in my old boy's 2.5gal plastic critter keeper thing, and it's been fine. No melting or boiling going on, and it's been in ages.

I used to have a tank like that for a hospital/quarantine and have previously had a 100w heater in there with no problems :look:

They look great :D

You where all supposed to say NO you cant use heaters in those tanks
I now have 6 of those tanks empty  and didnt use them because i thought they would melt with a heater
