you could help me out with my 10 gallon tank.............

i have a ten gallon tank that i want to start planting in (cycled)

i want to add real plants to the tank (easy growing plants)

(i do not use co2)

my lighting is just about 1 wat per gallon (tube lighting )


can anyone plz advise me on what i should do next (or what i should replace)

ive read all the pinned topics

but i just need someone who knows what they are doing to tell me what i should do in my case......

Well, I cant tell you what to do but I will tell you what I would do in your case. I would start by replacing the lighting, flourescent lighting is best and aim for around 2.5 watts per gallon. I would buy a cheap c02 system such as Hagen natural c02, or perhaps a DIY. I would then buy a good planting subtrate like eco-complete, a 20 pound bag should do the trick for a 10 gallon tank. If your filter does not create much surface agitation I wouldnt replace it, but something like a bio wheel may create too much. As for plants I would start with nice hardy plants such as java ferns, java moss, amazon sword, and vals.

i was thinking of putting a few java ferns but will 1 wat per gallon and no co2(injection)

be ok for is to live

i just want to get everything i need before killing any more plants
