although with the hex, i have the same one (in silver)
get some plants that break the surface of the water, if it's anything like my tank, the current is quite fast for long tailed bettas, a nice big plant helps them to hide and rest.

The plant in there should break the surface once its grown i couldnt find any that were long enough yet to break the surface
