Twin Spot Lionfish

Yet again i have fell into the impulse buy trap I really should start working weekends, i would save alot of money ) My exsperiance with lionfish is nil, but from what i read the biggest challenge is feeding. Anyone have any tips in getting a lion to accept dead food.
I have no really small fish in the tank, maybe the male ocellaris is in danger. Time will tell if the lion can take on fish almost the same size as it's self. Fu Manchu's only get 3"- 4" max so he can't do to much damage to the current population.

My antennata and Fuzzy Dwarf were both acclimitised onto prawns, whitebait and cockle by simply not offering them anything else, probably the easist way is to offer whitebait as it at east looks like something he will recognise as food
My fuzzy dwarf is so used to defrosted now he just shoots out from his lair and waits expectantly whenever my wife and I come near the tank

They have HUGE mouths so smaller fish are a no-no and of course their spines are venemous so care is needed when putting your hands in the tank.

Nice fish, good advice so far but be carefulwith other fish, it will see anything the same size or smaller as potential prey.. THey will eaven attempt to eat fish slightly larger than themselves and this usually ends up with both dying in the process.

With small lions which are hard to feed, use live glass shrimp or baby mollies. Its only to get them feeding first up, as the smaller the lionfish, generally, the harder to feed. After you have him taking live food, try him on the frozen stuff. I see no reason for you to starve a fish as KOD suggested just to get him on frozen. Make sure you live food is quality though, and no ill looking mollies. He is a gorgeous fish!
