Here is a shot of my 120 Imp. Gallon Aquarium
I put it together about 1 month ago. It has a sand substrate. I bought green slate (right) for rock, but my Brichardii have christened the tank with a "brood", so I don't want to take out the other rocks to add more slate till they can stick up for themselves or get eaten.
I have two external filters, a Fluval 404 from my old tank, and a Rena XP3.
I am mainly relying on the Fluval, to get the new tank up to scratch cyclewise, I am also doing pretty big water changes every couple of days. So far, so good.
Because the tank is quite deep, I had difficulty finding a "back" at a sensible price. Eventually I found that the juwel rock background fits if I stand it on end. It maks the seams more obvious, but I don't think its too much of a problem.
The inhabitants are a mixed bunch, but they generally get on quite well. The male Rusty, and the larger of my two Demasoni are the only two that get serious - at least when I am around. The Brichardii get a bit rough when they are spawning which is most of the time, - one reason for the larger tank.
I used to have fry, particularly rusties, coming out of my ears. But I think the catfish make a pretty good job of "natural selection" these days.
I'd like to put some plants in, but not really practical given the inhabitants.
