Ok so I was having a gander on the net looking up for info on my emerald eye rasboras came across a fish selling website so had a gander in the betta section. I scrolled down to the bottom and saw these betta tanks with bamboo (http/www.azgardens.com/labyrinth_fish.php) I kinda like the idea but I don't like the look of the size! I've heard of bettas in a vase but never seen or heard of these ones!

Adding bamboo to a open top/netted tank will help with the water q. I have seen thouse bowls and yes they are to small but you can do this your self to.
BTW Peace lillys, the betta bowl plant can also be added to the corner of a tank to help with the water. Just do not use a vase. They can also be planted under water. They do fine as a under water tank plant also.

Ive just had a look, the idea is ok..in theory..im sick and tired of seeing some of these "betta homes" because someone who doesnt know better wil think that its totally ok!!

check this one out...its shocking




This has to be the worst one that i have seen.

its such a shame, something needs to be done.
Sorry i think i went off on one...i just hate seeing things like this

Hmmm might add some bamboo or a peace lily to my tank then never thought of anything like that (might have more luck than with the other plants) What exactly do the plants do to the water?

Urgh that teapot is tiny! We all know we will never stop this kind of thing (sigh)!

No but a large site such as the one(i will not name) that has this posted on it could monitor it better, and not allow such filth to be sold!

Unfortunately the people that come up with these designs and ideas arent in it for the fishs well being they're in it for profit!

yeah...its great that they stopped fox hunting etc..but no one really care's about thing's like this. people see fish as a dime a dozen. but im still gonna educate people in lfs's buying these fish and even the staff sometimes! you can only do your little bit right?

The people who come up with these ideas should be made to stay in such a small space (to scale of course) along with the people who sell this things.
