try using fake plants and go for the silk ones they may be slightly higher in price but u do advantage from it greatly

1. They are more realistic looking
2. They will last u a lifetime
3. Your fish cannot tear them up :D

hope this helps

Hi

Our black moor also likes eating the weeds. One of our fancy goldfish wriggles in and sleeps in the weed all the time. Many times the children will come running in saying "the fish has died in the weed" - but no it is just sleeping and as soon as it detects interest in the tank it comes out and says "hello, come on then and feed me again!" It is sooooo sweet

Villy

My fancy goldfish love plants. If they are due for a half water change I take pity on them and buy them some of that crispy weed (I have it in my pond in the summer) and it takes them about 2 days to reduce it to stalks and lots of green floaty leaves. Bless them! :hey:

We've all but given up with real plants in my coldwater tank and as for floating plants they dont stand a chance! Only things that really survived were onion bulbs which I love cause they grow up and curly round the top. but our plastic plants I think they look very real especially once they've a bit of algae on them.

Not the clearest pic but all plants are fake plastic.
