Just got my tiger barbs

Not sure if i have a male and a female, but this one is def. a male.

And i think this one is a female. (bottom fish in the picture)

i'm thinking of getting tigers in the near future. what size tank do you have them in? how many do you have? do you have any other fish with them?

How weird I bought the same type of barbs and I have a total of 7 of them in my 150-160 gallon tank. That's pretty cool, so you're saying the males are more colorful? Very intersting. Want to know how to breed them

i have a bunch of barbs & someone told me on a forum that the boys have the bright orange noses the girls dont!!!!! mine must be all boys as they all have bright orange snouts. great fish kept in a little at least 6,(or big ) gang. real mischevious characters & brilliant to watch.

I have just those two in my 20 gal. It is true that the males (when ready for breeding) have the brightly colored nose. They are very active and are really fun if you have a gang of them. when i get my 55 gal. i'm putting about 8 of them in there. I use my camcorder to get my pictures. I have a tv tuner card in my computer, and i just pop in the tape and take screenshots. It usually works out good because i can rewind if i don't get the right pic the first time.As for breeding, go here

I love tiger barbs!!! I used to have around 8 of them but wherever I put them they were either bitin other fish or getting chewed on themselves! So back to the store they went!!! I miss the little guys! Great personalities!
