Hey all. Id have thought there would be a place to post all decor questions and suggestions, but this seems the most apt place.

Im in the process of making a 3d rocky background. After 2 or 3 tries, iv come up with one i like. Since its foam and concrete it has to cure and set .....la...de.......daaa, but then i got thinking about the while background issue.
Iv just cleaned out my tank and im probably the happiiest iv been with it. The plants look nice and vibrant and the water is crystal clear. There is a black background at the mo which really stands the plants and fish out, and i dont want to riun that effect. So is a darker background better visually, should it be textured, and natural looking. I know alot is down to personal taste. If im not impressed with my home made background im gonna just paint the back of the tank black (my current black acetate/plastic) background is inside the tank, with background stickers. Good effect to begin with but water gets behind it and it ripples in the current.

Personally I'd stick with what you have as it looks very good
Your tank will have to go through a major overhaul to have the 3D put in - once it's in and you don't like it, it's going to be very hard to remove.
And besides, 3D's are much harder to keep clean than plain glass.

My two cents anyway :)
