5 gal is too small for puffers...but you knew that and the requests are completely seperate right? :p

A 5 gallon is fine for a single dwarf puffer.
Yep.
Here are a couple of pics of mine. Sorry, no pic of the tank. My pair lived together peacefully in a 5 gallon together, but they were the exception to the rule. Sadly, the male went blind as he aged and had to be put down when he could no longer locate food :(

i have 2 in a 2 gallon tank........... :*)

btw synirr what and how often do you feed those guys to keep them looking so fat?

Order is female, male, female.
Female has since passed on, and the male has coloured up a lot since (they lose their colour when trying to spawn according to Rens page, perhaps that's why he was so colourless).

Don't have pictures of the tank I'm afraid. Though I keep my 1 remaining dp in a 15G. Spoiled little thing. 5G is the min. tank size (though people will argue over this), as I'm sure you're aware ... so your tank should make a lovely home for him/her =)

My pictures are really bad because their tank is acrylic and pretty scratched.

But I have 3 in a six gallon planted. They will be moving soon.

They are all really cute  after the new year i will fone around and see if i can get one. When setting the tank up, what should i do? Ive read that they need sand substrate, but thats about all ive uncovered for needs accroding to tank set up. Im guessing some plants (realy or fake?). As for feeding, Bloodworm, not sure how often and also snails to keep their teeth in check. Anything else? Also whats the best ph for these guys and do they like softer or harder water?

Thanks for the pics :D

Kev

Dwarf puffers are one of the few puffers that like softer water. Try to keep it at least neutral if you can and a little below is preferable. My puffers are a little small to eat bloodworms still so try to have some brine shrimp on hand too. They like really small mts and ramshorns. They don't bother plants either so a planted tank will work also.
