You need to test your water. The cloudiness you are experiencing is an Algae Bloom by the sounds of it. How long has the tank been up and running for? If its been up and running fine for a while (over 3 months in my opionion) then how often are you feeding them? Is there good water flow...

Dont use ammo lock, there is no need to use chemicals... Just do your water changes and clean your filter every week, just a couple of squeezes in a bucket of tank water.

Being a landlord and owning fish aswell.... I dont let my tenant keep any pets, especially fish as dirty water and carpets dont go well together. Harsh I know!

I have two featherfin cats and sometimes they eat the pellets and other times they dont. My advice would be to get some bog wood in there, they eat that! I feed my fish every four days. Feeding them lots twice a day is way over the top in my books...

Hi all, I have a Juwel Rio 240 tank, home to a freshwater setup. I have never liked the filter and pump supplied and seeming as the pump is on its way out i see no point in replacing it and am opting for a good quality external filter. The one I have in mind is the Eheim 2229 Wet/Dry Filter...

Thats what im worried about but I always keep extra media in there so hopefully if some did die, there is perhaps some backup... lol I did test for Nitrites and thats 0 which is a plus in this moment of doom and gloom..! Im expecting some more deaths as they are still acting quite strangely...

Its all about luck, you really do need to get something for them to live in though asap! What other fish do you have in your tank?

Ok done the test and ammonia showed up as 1.0.... Opened the filter and it was completely blocked! Putting this down to the neighbour overfeeding and possibly me over feeding a little. Im going to change the feeding pattern to every 3 days rather than every 2 days. Did a 40% change this...

The water now has suddenly turned a murky green as if its a brand new cycle going on... This is odd!

I must point out now that the tank is now much more heavily planted as those reeds grow like crazy...! But thanks for the compliment!
