Its just another way of introducing the co2 to the water.I was using the hagen ladder but i noticed after a new batch that the bubbles were not dissolving much (still reaching the surface quite big),this way the bubble is broken up in a vortex and then dissolved, if any bubbles do escape they...

Just built myself a co2 reactor,really easy(must be if i can do it!)using a powerhead,and a gravel vac filled with some bio balls and sponge=100% OF CO2 DISSOLVED!

No it just means that your lighting is strong enough to change the pigment from green to red.

Bigc can u give a little more info on this please how much does it cost to replace,how long should it last ,where do u buy replacments,how has this effected your tank?

Thanks for the nice comments! Im currenty running 3x25w with 2 hagen co2 units on diy for 5 hours on 2 off 5 on. Just started adding KNO3 + potassium.

Its been a while so i thought id show you where i was at with things.

you can find differant yeasts on sites like The home brew shop.I recently bought some super yeast from there v good,but i would go for champaign yeast.

have just bought myself a little heater mat from The home brew shop on line it is doing wonders for my hagen co2 units,£20 well spent!
