    External Filter For Juwel 60 - 90??

It would do the job fine, but you might find the current is a bit strong especially if you got the reckord 60! Get a spray bar (not sure if the Ecco comes with one) to soften the blow, or if memory serves me right, I think you can adjust the flow on the Ecco range anyway!!

    Good £200 - £300 Tank??

I would recommend a Rena Tankas they are much better built than the juwels, better looking (IMO) and come with better equipment, but you're not going to get one for less than £500 so I'd follow CFC's advice and go with seperates. If you look around there are some good deals to be had on most...

    Filters

Don't buy fluvals!!!! They are made really badly! I've had 3 of them break on me, and changed them for Eheims or Renas both of which make massively superior filters! The fluvals are expensive fisher price tat!!! :P :D

    New house, new tank

I was in my LFS the other day and spotted that Rena have added a beauty of a corner tank to their range. It's not cheap at £799, but the Rena tanks are nicer looking than the Juwels, better made, and come with a much much better filter. Unfortunately I can't seem to find anything on the web...

    What Is This??

I have a UV unit on my 140g, it was on there when I bought it! whether it is any use or not is questionable, but I will say I've not had any disease in that tank in the year and a half I've had it, and that included moving and stressing out 4 clown loaches!! If that is down to the UV then great...

    Eheim 2227

The reason they pulse is because the filter fills itself up and then empties every minute or so. For this reason the 2227 Wet/Dry filter will put loads of air through your tank water regardless of how you position the spray bar because of the filling/emptying action of the filter and the surface...

    Filters

The 104 has an output of 480l/h, and the Emeim 2211 is quoted at 300l/h, 2222 at 500l/h and the Eco 2232 is 400l/h, so all but the Professional 2 are rated lower than the Fluval, will last longer and filter better!! :P

    Filters

I have a 22g with a Fluval 204, but I'm not a particularly big fan of the Fluvals as they always seem to break!!!. If were you, I'd go with an eheim ecco 2231, or the 2211 classic, or the 2222 professional 2. All slightly overfilter your tank, but will be so much better than the Fluval, and...

Made a rescue, probably shouldnt have

Excellent Fish CFC. I went and had a look at some pics of a Wallago attu and found this: I definately wouldn't put my hand in a tank with one of these!! :o :o :o

    Battle of the filters

I've used the Eheims and the Fluvals, and I have to say whilst I agre with everything that has been said about the fluval being easier to clean, no one has mentioned that the Fluval will fall apart within 2 months of use!! I've had 3 204's 1 304 and a 404. They ALL developed a fault of one kind...

    AWESOME Sparring pictures!!

I spotted that too Wolf. When I used to have Tiger Barbs, if there was any lip locking going on, it was usually between male and female. I always used to assume it was mating behaviour. I never spawned them as TB's are stupid and eat their own eggs, so I don't know if I'm right or not. Just an...

    My Zebs

Ahhh the memories!!! I had a species tank of zebras, but I broke a few tanks down and unfortunately their tank had to go as well. I sold them all to a guy who already had 5 so they went to a good home. Are you sure those breeding caves are not too big? I was told a full grown male should be...
