Why Not To Do Water Changes If You Can't Remember What Day It Is&#

 I almost did this today. Trying to hurry up and get one more water change in before leaving for work and turned my bank on the tank filling while trying to clean the filter up.... Caught it just in the nick of time. Would not have been a good thing since the tank is in my living room!

    Finally!

You're right about my weather, HOT pretty well descibes the next 6 months or so. We do get a lot of thunderstorms about mid summer so maybe that will help (along with a fan on the tank). I think it may be a while before mine are ready to try though, I've got some mature females but my males...

    A Thread For Iceegrl

Thanks Sue, I'm really enjoying the planted tanks. Having a local planted tank club helps a lot. I'm in the stage of just experimenting to see what I can grow and what I like and not really worrying about a "perfect landscape". That will come later. Unfortunately, planted tanks are as...

    Planning A Planted Cory Tank

Hi Jollysue! Yes, I would most definately get the orange stripe again. On the right color substrate they are almost as flashy as the greens. They look much better on a dark or black substrate than they do on the red colored fluorite. I think you'd probably like them better than the red...

    Planning A Planted Cory Tank

I have almost the identical setup that you're thinking about. It's a 40 breeder with about 2 - 2 1/2 inches of fluorite which I then put a 1 inch layer of super fine gravel (or coarse sand) on top of. The layers do mix some over time, more from me rearranging the plants though than from the...

    More New Fish

I also can lay the blame for my cory collection on Inchworm! She has done so much for so many of us and been so encouraging whenever problems arise. She held my hand through my first spawning of Paleatus, cheered for my first purchase of lasers (who actually turned out to be orange lasers and...

Little Visitors - Trying Not To Get Attached!

They'd have to be here a long time before they're big enough to spawn! A couple of them are only about 1/2 an inch long, the biggest is around 1 inch. Although it's looking like they'll be here at least 2 weeks, between my 2 jobs I won't have a day off until the 21st so I won't be able to...

Little Visitors - Trying Not To Get Attached!

So these little guys arrived in the mail today. They are just to darn cute. I'm trying hard to not get attached to them since they are a birthday present for a friend of mine from my local planted tank club. There's 8 of the little tykes and the biggest one is about an inch long. My friend...
