Riley's 5-gallon hex.

Thanks. They've been scampering around a little today, even climbing up on the plants and eating algae. They're also snagging bloodworms and pieces of flakes and the sinking shrimp pellets I drop in for the corys. They sure are fun to watch!

I was getting some furry grey-green algae on my plants, none on the glass, and bought some ghost shrimp yesterday. They scattered under the mopani log for most of the day but when I got up this morning it looked like a lot of the algae was gone and the shrimp tummies looked the color of the...

I know it's tough. I just went through it -- we all have at one time or another. I'm so sorry. Welcome aboard, hang around and gather tons and tons of knowledge about this addictive fish world.

I'm so new at this I probably shouldn't be posting, but I have seen jugs of "Betta water" in our Petco. Maybe the other chains have them and I don't know where you are, kelnme. Would that help until you get the tank cycled? Or even bottled spring water. At least they would be ammonia-free...

There is no cure. Sorry. I'm only on my second one (the first died) and I'm looking at tanks to cycle to rescue these water puppies from their cups. :lol:

Thank you. Of course he's great -- he's a betta! I raise orchids, over 200 of them, and I thought THEY were addictive. I have some birthday money and I'm gonna spend it on another hex tank to cycle for another guy. Sheesh! :rolleyes:

Thanks. I am really enjoying him. So you think he's a ct? He hasn't flared yet. I'll get a mirror and bug him a little and see what happens. He loves that tank and rests on the V of the driftwood and in the pennywort leaves.

I said he was a ct, he was sold as a ct, but he's not. Must be a vt. Ya think?

Thanks. He's a CT and my second. I couldn't believe he made a bubble nest so soon after I bought him but he hasn't flared at me yet. Dempsey died a couple of weeks ago because I didn't know I was overfeeding the greedy little thing. I have learned lots on this forum and I thank all of you...
