The female has been guarding them very well under the plant in she also dug out the sand and made a pit for them, I can see them swimming around but they wont leave the pit she dug.

Nevermind the female moved them Under the planted area I can see them wiggling around on the sand, dont think there free swimming yet.

Do the parents move the Fry after hatching? I just looked and there all gone but the female is acting like shes protecting a different area but its in the back of the tank in plant coverage so I cant see if there there, maybe they eat them who knows but will the move the fry?

Ya they just started hatching today, I'm interested to see if they survive but I doubt it. I never intended to breed them but I guess they took it upon there selves so far they have fended off the Plec and all is good but we will see how far they make it before one of the other fish gets them.

Ok so I guess 2 of my JD's paired up and breed. I know nothing about the breeding or raising of the JD so if you guys can give me any advice it would be great, from the looks of it they laid at least 50 eggs on a rock. How long does it usually take for them to hatch? Also how big are the fry...

I see what your saying well any way if you want to see where i got the Ph suggestions from its on this forum go to new world cichlids then fish index and look at the blue acara firemouths and JD's and they all state in profile the Ph. if these are incorrect than i think these need to be changed...

I woukld most deffinetley put your angels in the 75 due to the fact they arent very hardy and you can probably manage your 75 gal tanks ammonia levels better than the 20 gal tanks. As for the other fish id research them and see which ones arent real hardy and move them but you dont want to many...

doing a fish in cycle will not show much results for awhile its not like using ammonia and takes like a week your talking this method will take upto 6 weeks... and all those fish in that 20 gal tank for that long i dont see them lasting a week tio be honest. to push it along faster you can go to...
