hi there
Gratz on your cycled tank. just one point tho. you say every reading on the api master test kit is 0, however. When you are testing for nitrAte you should have a reading around 20ml (depending on source water) after a water change. this reading should then rise over the next two weeks...
tbh honest with you my initial thought to placing the coral in my tank was:
a) it would look out of place
b) It may affect my ph
c) May alter my hardness
I just thought id ask on here to be sure because my dad got back from cuba today and hed personally collected these from the beach there...
my dad has returned from the caribean and has brought me back quite a few pieces of rock. its "old coral" im unsure whether i can place them in my tropical setup due to possibe buffers and variations in ph, gh and kh.
Any advise would be very welcome

Hi
I have the juwel rekord 800 and my internal filter contains the blue sponge at the bottom, the green in middle and white wool like filter on the top.
Tbh i really dont rate the Jewel internal filter all too highly but it will be fine for a medium stocked tank
I plan to replace mine soon...
Yeah i keep my tetra at 26 c and they are very happy :good:
Id advise you to research each type of fish before you buy. This way you can try keep fish that require a similar temperature
I think the tank you have isnt tall enough for angels as they grow quite big but please correct me if im wrong (i was told 18 inch is really the minimum but i may be wrong)
Its nothing to worry about. Just buy a bottle of dechlorinator and add it to the tap water before you add it to your tank when you do your water changes.
Maybe i made the above sound alot more difficult than it actually is.
All i meant is just try and keep the filter damp on transit...
one thing i think is VERY important..Make sure that the filter that is currently for the tank stays wet. If the filter media (sponge, etc) dries out you will lose any bacteria that is already there. The bacteria also needs oxygen so ideally if poss try to get the tank installed within an hour or...
Looks like a male and female to me but they arnt very old yet and are sometimes difficult to sex. Tbh tho. They look pretty much identicle to the pair i have who just so you know display the same behaviour traits as you mentioned :good:
Once they get to around 8 - 10 months old they should be...
I actually keep 2 x red eared sliders (terrapins)
as previously stated they will die in saltwater. They also need a platform to bask on under a uv light (if they dont have this then they can suffer from a disease which softens their shells). The may live to be 70 years old and as they get...
ooh. 1 more thing. After your tank has matured a while id suggest a pair of bolivian rams. I dont even know what type of fish you are getting or like but they are a personal favourite of mine and i just thought id mention them
Amazonian theme is amazing in my oppinion
I would strongly suggest you get bogwood if you are going for this setup. I have an amazing big circular piece in my tank and the tannins it releases add a wonderful tea colour to the water and makes my neon tetra and other fish's colours really stand...
I had to rehome a red tailed black shark after 3 weeks in my 25 gal tank..It claimed about 80% of the tank as its territory and harrased anything that came near.
I really like that fish but he had to go back
Yeah. I purchased the jewel rekord 800 (110 litre) for my first tank.
Came complete with heater, internal filter and 2 x lights
The lights and heater are ok but the filter i wanted to replace with a cannister. Flow rate too slow imo and looks ugly.
