Not as you'd expect for an 8 year old either, as I was encouraged to start by my dad, who'd been a keen fishkeeper and passed on some of his kit to me and I then picked up some second hand kit and got myself going. He was then posted overseas and I was left to pretty much fight my way through blue green algae infestations, terrorising angelfish who wanted to kill all their tankmates while they bred and old tank syndrome. Rolling time on a few years I was that annoying teenager that was breeding angelfish that people actually wanted to buy and I had enough time to get picky enough about breeding that people were actually interested in the genetic lines I was using for their own projects, which is probably as advanced in fishkeeping as I'll ever get. The tanks continued through medical school despite me being away but were finally shelved when I moved into hospital junior doctors digs, where no pets were allowed and moving every 4-6 months didn't really lend itself to stable fishkeeping. A run in rented flats then saw me finally get established again in a house that I wasn't gutting too badly so I managed to get a tank back again. <span style="color

So I'm back on steep learning curves and have a few ideas that occasionally need beating out of me, but the spirit is willing. Right now I'm trying to fit as many tanks as the other half won't notice into a house full of builders dust and stuff for our 6 month old, while spending all my money trying to buy into a business. So far I've managed to get 3 running with one in the set up process, not counting quarantines/hospitals. <span style="color

Hopefully with some form of low tech planted and either a shrimp nano or a nanoreef (the last is still undecided). Everything is always a work in progress.
